Food moth traps

Purpose
The food moth trap is used to monitor the following flying insect species:

Plodia interpunkctella – indianmeal moth
Anagasta kuechniella – mediterranean flour moth
Ephestia elutella – cacao moth
Cadra cautella – date fly

The traps contain a synthetic analogue of a natural pheromone responsible for attracting male monitored insect species to the traps. The natural developmental cycle of insects is characterized by males hatching first from pupae. If we use a monitoring trap containing the above pheromone, we deprive the pest population of males and thus hinder the completion of the development cycle associated with female fertilization. The traps are designed for both professional IPM and household threat level determination.

Directions for use The average area of effective monitoring of insect presence by the trap is: Average area for effective monitoring of insect presence by a trap is:- 20m2 Traps should not be deployed in close proximity to food storage areas. They should ideally be placed at a distance of min. 1-2m from areas where insects are considered most undesirable, e.g. cupboards storing flour and flour products, storage areas for spices and other products that are potential food sources for harmful insects. When deploying traps, make sure that they are not located close to air currents caused, for example, by ventilation systems, radiators, etc. Particular care should be taken so that, as far as possible, redundant traps are located in the same place as the previous trap. Avoid setting two traps within less than 3-4m distance of each other.
Storage Store traps in areas with a constant temperature of 25°C or lower.
Safety rules The traps are safe products for humans, pets and the environment.
